Roadtrip 2017 dag 13

Our last morning in Caspe began earlier than usual - we packed our belongings and prepared the motorcycle. Then the organizer of the fishing holidays came to have a talk with us, we all had a cup of coffee/tea and a nice "untill next time" conversation. After that we jumped on the motorcycle and left Caspe, through the road that always led us to our fishing spot. But the road didn't end over there, we went on, staying by Ebro's side for a while, seeing it's big dam and visiting villages along the way. As we drove, the mountains became higher and greener. Soon it was getting hard to believe that we're still in Spain! The weather was sunny but quite cool, I needed my sweater to feel warm enough while on the road. We had little breaks, admiring the views like a streamy river with many people doing their best not to fall out of their kayaks. Finally we entered a mountain road, bringing us up high, letting us go through tunnels and see amazing views. We were stopping to admire and take pictures more than usual. Then suddenly we were on a border of Andorra! After a little break and some photos with the border sign we moved on, looking around the tiny country, surrounded by tall mountains. We had a big lunch there and went on - there were still quite some mountain roads to cover! Stopping for beautiful views we were steadily moving forward. It felt like it was getting colder with each kilometer. My hands and face began to freeze, so as I was taking out my bandana out of my motorjacket's pocket, my box of earplugs fell on the road - right on the border of France! I asked Marcel to stop and ran back to get them. There were border police officers checking on one car, while others were driving over my little box. Of course, I attracted the officers' attention, but after an explanation we all just laughed about it and my earplugs got returned to me. So we went on in France, slowly going down the mountains, were we got stopped. The police again! Also the first time for Marcel to be stopped! They were checking if we had alcohol or cigarettes with us, but as we don't even use any of the two, they had no reason to hold us longer. It didn't take very long anymore to reach a little French village in the mountains were stood our stay of tonight. We checked in, and decided to take it easy today with only relaxing and preparing for tomorrow. Then we move further up!
