Roadtrip 2018 dag 18

The night at Kaliningrad was a little short because of annoying mosquitos that got in our room, but having a good breakfast and feeling the cool morning air helped beating the sleepiness. It was a bit complicated in Kaliningrad itself to find our way, but soon we were riding down a road through the countryside of the little Russia, and even sooner than I thought we were standing at the border. There was a long row in front of us this time, but because we're Europeans and on a motorcycle, we could pass it and go in front quite fast. The control checks went smooth (took about 1 hour and 35 mins) and soon we were back in Poland again! And then we went on riding…..and riding, and riding, through highways, country roads and roads under construction. Today was about making distance, and we were sure doing that, also feeling it in our bodies getting stiff on the bike. After many many hours on the road, we've reached our destination of today - Poznan! We quickly checked in our hotel, freshened up and went out to explore - it was quite late already. And at first we walked in a completely different direction than the old town was! Still, we've managed to reach it before sunset. It was lovely, full of colorful old buildings, fountains, terraces, live music artists and a huge church. We've spent our time over there because it was getting dark and late really fast, until the time came to return to our hotel. Tomorrow we can take it easier!
