Roadtrip 2021 Frankrijk & Spanje dag 11

We woke up in the morning, had a quick breakfast, dressed, filled the coolbox with food and drinks and headed out to the river side. There Jos picked us up with the boat and we went to the other side of the river where we built our camp. Then the waiting had begun! We had laughs and drinks, and also needed to have some patience as the fish took their sweet time. At about 12 in the afternoon, the bells on one of the rods rang and the rod started to shake. As it was my turn to start, I jumped up and ran to the rod. With instructions of Jos I slowly drilled the fish to the shore. It didn´t come without a fight, but I wasn´t ready to give up either! Soon a beautiful catfish emerged from the depth, and Jos pulled it to the shore. It was 1,20 m! We had some fun taking pictures, and I released the fish back into the river. It took few more hot hours before another rod started to shake. This time was Marcel´s turn, and he had quite some hard work pulling this fish in. It was no small one! After some tug-of-war, a huge catfish appeared in the surface. After pulling it on shore, we discovered it to be 1,96 m! Marcel posed for some photos with the beast, and we both held it in the water before the release. No other fish came today, except of tasting the bait and keeping us at the edge of our seats. We had lots of fun talks and enjoyed ourselves and the weather, knowing well that tomorrow brings new chances, being happy about this beautiful catch opening our fishing adventure!
