Roadtrip 2021 Frankrijk & Spanje dag 14

11 september 2021 - Caspe, Spanje

Today started as all our fishing days - get up, eat, get dressed, take food and drinks and go to the waterside for the most important activity of the day. It was Marcel´s turn, and after setting up our camp we waited. The fish were stubborn today as well. There were lots of them at the right spot, said Jos, checking on his fish-finder, but they were just not in the mood to eat. Finally, after quite a long wait, Marcel´s kitty rang the bell. It was a very good fighter and put up a nice tug-of-war with Marcel. After measuring its´ 1,30 m and some photos, the fish returned to the waters, and we to our chairs. My fish also made us wait quite some hours, but when it came, it made me show all that I´ve learned as well. At a certain moment it pulled so hard that I had to sit down to continue the drill. When it was finally on the shore, Jos inspected it and showed us a fresh bite of another, much bigger catfish, which was probably the strong pull that I´ve felt. The fish was 1,52 m, and really fun to pose with. While taking the last pictures of it, the second fish rang, and Marcel took the rod. It turned out to be a feisty dark carp, we saw it right before the shore, but at the last moment it speeded under the boat and got loose. Fortunately, after some waiting another carp came for Marcel, being very sneaky and swimming towards us, making us think Marcel has no fish on the rod. After getting the fish to the shore, we measured it to be 8 kg and took some photos of Marcel with his catch. The weather was very still in the beginning of the day, later changing into being windy, cloudy and bit stormy in the horizon, what could have made the fish more active. It was not explosive, but we´re happy with every catch, resulting in 22 fish caught in total so far. We will see how much we can raise this number tomorrow!

Went fishing: about 8:00
Returned: about 20:30
Weather: sunny and hot, in the late afternoon/evening windier, cloudier and cooler
