Roadtrip 2022 Denemarken dag 11

23 juni 2022 - Kopenhagen, Denemarken

We had a nice, lazy morning with lots of sleeping in, having breakfast and doing research on what we´d like to explore. At around 11:00 we rolled out of our hotel room and hopped on a metro to go to the centre of Kopenhagen. It was a wonderful day with a clear blue sky and sun shining brightly. Firstly we rushed to the statue of the famous little mermaid. Over there it was quite crowded, I thought, but Marcel said it was quite peaceful in compare to his last visit 10 years ago! We took some pictures next to the little statue and went further along the harbor, exploring, finding more statues on the way. Then we explored what used to be a fort, and now seemed like a military station. We walked all along it´s ´´stars´´, watching fish in the water surrounding the fort. Afterwards we had lunch in a park, and proceeded walking, taking pictures of picturesque churches, fountains, cannons and anchors. We took our sweet time, but it was also needed, as the city centre is big and has a lot to offer! We visited the Nyhavn again, then had a big icecream and proceeded through a famous shopping street, walking further down the H. C. Andersens boulevard. After many impressive buildings to see and make pictures of, we ended up at a nice big park, where next to a beautiful castle, in a pond, loads of carps were gathering. We took our rest there, and of course, had loads of fun feeding the fish. Wet from splashes from the excited carps, we found a Golden Gates restaurant nearby and had dinner. Then we decided that around 16 km around the city should do and that we´ve seen plenty. So we took a metro back to our hotel, where we relax before continuing the ride tomorrow!
