Roadtrip 2018 dag 9

After our first night in Belarus we had a big breakfast and returned on the road. We were riding through the countryside, mostly fields, forests, and a few little towns on the way. In one town was a beautiful memorial park with a church, monuments and war helicopters, jets and tanks. After making some pictures over there we went on further on the quiet road, and kilometers flew by fastly. Soon we entered Minsk - the capital of Belarus. We've parked the bike in front of the hotel, checked in, took refreshing showers and went out to explore. Marcel has chosen a perfect spot to stay here - a Golden Gates restaurant and a metro stop right outside our hotel door! We first went to have an early, very filling dinner at the same restaurant, and then took a metro to the city centrum. We saw a few nice buildings, and then started walking next to a big river. We kept walking, but there wasn't that much to see anymore. We've covered a lot of ground, finding some churches and monuments along the way, but so far we could see, Minks lacks of impressive old buildings that we've seen in Prague of Krakow, or at least a lovely alley like at Brest. When it started getting dark, we took a tram back to our hotel. Tomorrow is for Minks as well, so we hope to find some interesting things that could be hidden here!
