Roadtrip 2021 Frankrijk & Spanje dag 5

After a nice and easy morning in Nantes, we took the highway South, and so it felt - the sun was shining bright and the temperature was climbing up. On one of our breaks a Dutch camper-van parked next to our bike, and we had a fun short conversation with the couple who drove it. Turns out they used to do motortrips too when they were younger! We both proceeded with our journeys, and a few stops later we reached Bordeaux. The weather had changed drastically and the huge city welcomed us with clouds of rain. Fortunately, we´re not made of sugar, so we just put our raincoats on and headed out to explore. We crossed the bridge over the almost 500 m wide river Garonne and entered the city centre. Being led by a good map, we visited one impressive old building after another, while the rain subsided. Arcs, churches, pallaces, Bordeaux seemed to have it all! Streets full of modern life among walls stuck in the old times. After recharging with some ice cream and healthy (?!) MC dinner we just kept on walking as there were endless sights to see. We especially enjoyed a huge pallace with a mirror-effect in front of it. Then we followed the river for a while, enjoying Bordeaux´ evening life - people gathering, playing music, dancing, skating, having fun. We did so until it got completely dark, and many night-shots later we headed back to our hotel. We can call Bordeaux our personal favorite...so far! Up to other cities to discover if they can beat this score.
