Roadtrip 2016 Great Britain dag 5

We woke up in a cozy room in Orcadia B&B and had our fill of delicious English breakfast (smaller this time! :-) . Then we took the last look at it's amusing garden, said goodbyes to the owners and went on doing what us roamers, driven by wanderlust, do - exploring the unknown roads. We dived straight into the harsh Scottish wilderness. High mountains, thick forests, restless streams, nature being so wild, so rough, untouched by humans. I've never been in the mountains before, so I just stared in awe while Marcel speeded his motorcycle on a lonely mountain road. Lots of kilometers laid ahead, so we were only having short breaks. When lunch time came, we stopped at a fuel station for tasty sandwiches and coffee/cola. There were around 160 km to go, and for that we had to take the toughest part of our today's journey - a very narrow road, with vehicles barely passing each other, going up and down, with very sharp curves - but that was fun, and definitely worth the breathtaking view. Soon high walls of grass and stone trapped the little road from both sides. Suddenly everything around us disappeared. Took me a while to realize that we were in a cloud! That didn't make driving conditions easier, but we slowly moved on. After finally reaching a wider road that wasn't consumed by a cloud, we reached a little, old, but majestic Eilean Donan castle. It's famous for being a film site for the Highlander movie! We took some gorgeous pictures and soon were at our next "home for a night" - youth hostel on Isle of Skye. After a filling dinner in a hotel-restaurant nearby, we're relaxing in our apartment.
Tomorrow we'll go on to the next adventure! This trip is so amazing so far! I wonder what else Marcel has prepared for us :-) .
