Roadtrip 2016 Great Britain dag 9

21 juli 2016 - Carnforth, Verenigd Koninkrijk

After yesterday being a laundry day, early in the morning we quickly prepared, and, being brutally attacked by little blood-sucking flies which rule that area, took off down a mountain road. This was the last day for us to enjoy Scotland's beauty, so we did, riding through narrow roads among those enormous rock walls. At a town called Mosfat we had a nice break to eat sandwiches, and soon we were on the road again, saying goodbye to the Highlands and hello to the Teletubbie-country(green hills, rabbits, nice smiling sun) :) At a fuel station a guy approached Marcel and asked him if he was a mechanic. Turned out that the guy's Jaguar had broken down. Marcel listened to the sound the car was making while trying to start, and figured out the battery was too weak. Then the guy went to buy starter cables and someone to help start his car again. And it succeeded! The guy couldn't thank Marcel enough.
Not only biking but also hiking! At one of the last stops at Lake District National Park, we had a hike to a waterfall. It was quite a distance walking with a beautiful nature around.
We arrived at a pub where we slept in Carnforth tired, but happy, and had a decent dinner. Because of the long distance and adventures along the way, very soon we fell asleep.
