Roadtrip 2021 Frankrijk & Spanje dag 6

After nicely sleeping in, we prepared, jumped on the motorcycle and drove out of the sunny Bordeaux. The road was getting surrounded by more and more trees, and the temperature was dropping down. Few little rainclouds had showered us too, but we didn´t mind and kept on going, as this was just a reassurance to what we´ve reached - rows of mountains, like backs of some giants - the Pyrenees! We´ve entered Spain very suddenly on the highway, so no pictures of the border-sign this time. It was incredibly nice to ride through the mountains and have a break by a riverside on some stone benches in the woods. Our today´s destination, Pamplona, was not far anymore. It greeted us with sunshine and plenty of warmth. We had some fun checking in by a pension of a sweet old couple who spoke no word English, but sign language and google-translate did their job. When entering the city centre, we didn´t expect very much to see, but Pamplona surprised us nicely with some cozy old streets and beautiful buildings, aside from its´ more famous bull-fighting arena and a statue for the annual being-chased-by-the-bulls-tradition. After a great Burger King dinner we explored until we had checked all the sightings on our map. Then, after a late ice cream dessert, we called it a day. Tomorrow we explore the sunny Spain further!
