Roadtrip 2021 Frankrijk & Spanje dag 7

We made quite a habit of sleeping in, followed by preparing fastly and heading out of Pamplona. A long road was ahead of us!....and a big cloud. As we drove on a mountain, we were also inside a huge chilly cloud. I was happy when we escaped to the sun and warmth again! Our breaks were short and we made about a 100 km in between - that way we moved with a steady pace until our big reward - Madrid! We checked in and parked the bike safely at our cozy hotel, which stands comfortably close to the metro and our favorite fast food places. So we freshened up, ate, saw some noisy green parrots, and went to the city centre. There were old Spanish buildings all around to take pictures of! We followed a route close to a huge park, and saw people protesting, what resulted in a big street being closed for traffic by police. In advantage of us, too, because sometimes the best pictures are made from the middle of a street! After exploring a part of the centre we decided to take a route back through the big park. There was a huge pond with a nice old building at the back of it, but what we enjoyed the most were friendly carps! I had cookies in my bag, so you can guess what happenned next. The carps really enjoyed their treat, as much as we did the view they gave us! Afterwards we stocked up our water supplies, grabbed an ice cream and returned to the hotel. Tomorrow we let the bike get some rest and see what else Madrid has to offer!
