Roadtrip 2021 Frankrijk & Spanje dag 1

Last night we couldn´t fall asleep so fast - we were so excited to go adventuring again! In the morning, after preparing fastly, off on the Dutch highways we went, here and then getting showered by rain. It was a long ride through complicated roads, until we reached the province Zeeland. It was really cool to hop from one island to another! We stopped for a late lunch break (after almost 200 continuous kms....our poor butts), tanked ourselves at the KFC, the bike - at a gas station, and went on in direction of Belgium, entering it very soon. We were quite surprised about the many trafficlights...on the highways! It didn´t take us long anymore to reach the destination of today - Brugge. We parked the bike, got to our room, freshened up quickly and entered the city. It was cozy, and despite the gloomy weather, quite crowded. We explored the city centre, enjoying tiny little medieval-looking streets, more modern streets full of shops and restaurants, and Brugge´s picturesque square. The square was full of life, with horse charriots, people eating out, other tourists. There was a huge church and other beautiful buildings, unfortunately, of course, under construction, as Marcel was there. We enjoyed some SUPER chocolatey Belgian waffles, and as rain was getting heavier, called it a day and returned to the hotel. Guess which land we´ll be headed to tomorrow!..
