Roadtrip 2021 Frankrijk & Spanje dag 2

We woke up quite early, so we wasted no moment of daylight and soon were on the bike again. We left Brugge, in direction of France, but what we didn´t know is that the navigation had a surprise for us... Instead of going through faster roads, it kept sending us through little villages. The views were great, though - cozy Belgian, and, after we passed the border, French villages. Fortunately, Marcel had discovered the nuisance and we went back on track. The wind was very strong, and soon I discovered why - gorgeous sea emerged on our right! We soon stopped at Cap Blanc Nez, where a huge obelisk stood high on the famous white coastal cliffs. The views of the sea and its´ far horizon were mesmerizing! Our second stop followed soon at Cap Gris Nez, where we could take another look at coastal nature and some relics of WW2. The sea was so rough, it felt like the wind will carry us away!.. or the tiny me, at least. Because we´ve lost precious time in the beginning, the rest of the journey was speeding through endless highways. I called our butts poor yesterday, but it doesn´t compare with what they endured on this 6 hour ride!.. After wrestling through the last kms of today, we reached Caen. Big city with an incredible centre, full of magnificient old buildings! We climbed remains of a castle to make amazing pictures of a beautiful church in front and the city all around us. A quick dinner-stop at the MC, and we walked further, discovering more of these amazing buildings, enjoying streets full of happy people drinking and eating in cozy terraces. Time flied by fast, and we finally found ourselves back in the hotel, taking much needed rest. Tomorrow the ride continues!
