Roadtrip 2021 Frankrijk & Spanje dag 3

Our day started even earlier than yesterday, but we took it easy and slowly prepared. We couldn´t check in at our destination very early, so driving was also supposed to be a breeze with relaxing stops. However, I didn´t imagine one stop to be like this!.. As we went off the highway and rode a little further, I saw it in the distance - a castle standing on a high mountain, looking like some kind of a fairytale. We parked the bike and had a long walk to the mountain, growing and growing as we came closer....while making many pictures! It was so unique, standing there surrounded by sea, some city houses below this huge fortress. We walked all around it as it was dry enough to do so (and where it wasn´t, we climbed some rocks). On a small tower there was something unusual - little music box on its wall, playing a lullaby if you turn it! We went inside the city for a moment, but we had too less time to explore it all. Something we might do another time! After a long walk back we continued our ride. Many kms later we left the highway and rode into Brest, a big coastal city with history surrounding its military harbor. We took many pictures of its famous fort and some buildings around. Brest is not a tourist-y city full of attractions and things to see, but it sure has good food! We enjoyed some tasty cheesy pizzas at a local Italian restaurant and almost had to roll ourselves back to the hotel. Now we´re up to some sweet dreams and a good ride tomorrow!
