Roadtrip 2022 Denemarken dag 16

Today we slept in, then rushed to check out because we rolled in bed for quite long, and then returned on the road. After doing some groceries we left Lubeck, and through relatively quiet roads headed towards Hamburg. Our journey went smooth with some relaxing stops, eating our second breakfast, laying on a bench in the sun and watching fish in a pond. The road went on and finally took us to Wedel - where our dear friends Jeroen and Anna live, who we, for the joy of us all, would meet for the second time during this trip! They were still working, so we parked the bike at their garden and thought of exploring the surroundings. Suddenly a car entered the garden - Anna´s father Milan had returned from work! We greeted each other and had a nice talk in the garden. After a while Jeroen and Ari arrived, followed by Anna a little while later. They showed us their beautiful new house, and then we all went out to have dinner and talks at a beach club. It was very ´´gezellig´´ (cozy with people, to translate roughly), to have a great dinner and lots of catching-up talks with each other next to a beautiful beach of the river Elbe. When it started getting a bit late, Anna took Ari home to sleep, and we got some ice-cream with Jeroen before heading back. At their home we shared some more talks and went to bed. It would be early tomorrow for all of us, and we had the road back home ahead of us.
