Roadtrip 2019 Italy, day 23

After quite a long sleep and a filling breakfast we prepared for the longest ride of this trip - the ride back home. It was very boring! We kept on riding on an endless highway amongst many cars, stopping from time to time to stretch. After what felt like an eternity, we've left Germany, and the Netherlands greeted us with a huge amount of rain. We kept on going, and the closer to home we got, the better the weather was getting. Finally, tired and sore, we tanked the bike full in Leeuwarden and after three long weeks we were home again. Another beautiful trip has been traveled. It was incredibly sunny (and sweaty)! We've learned a lot of things about Italy. That on the road the rules don't always matter, and that beeping solves everything. That lizards in your house is a normal thing. That your breakfast is tiny and dinner - as much as yo can possibly eat. And that during the night, when the temperature drops at least a little, empty cities come back to life. We've seen lots of beautiful things, and enriched our minds with countless new experiences. Thank you, Italy! You were wonderful.
