After a filling breakfast we left our hotel a little late. Plus, it took us about a half an hour to get our of Palermo through it's crazy traffic! Fortunately, soon we were free to go on more open roads. Well, more "open".....lots of roads we needed to take were under repair, so often we stood in front of traffic lights, boiling in our motorsuits. Anyways, in about a halfway 'till our destination we made a stop to explore something very special - Valley of Temples, the remains of ancient Greek buildings. We parked the bike, changed our clothes and went exploring. It was really special to see these super old structures - some totally fallen apart, some still in wonderful shape. After discovering all the things that were there to see and enjoying an ice cream break (an Italian specialty called granita), we continued our journey. Another two hours through Sicillian roads, with a break at a gas station to eat a toast, and we arrived at our place - Nicolosi, with volcano Etna smoking in the background. Our friendly host showed us around our lovely B&B. We were tired and it was late, so we didn't explore the city, just went to a tiny supermarket to get enough water. Back at our temporary home we did the laundry and worked on our stories to share with you all. We're taking it easy - tomorrow our adventure continues here!
