Roadtrip 2022 Denemarken dag 2

We woke up after a great night´s sleep, prepared and soon sat on the bike again. At a gas station Marcel tanked the bike with fuel, I tanked myself with coffee, and then we left Hamburg through a highway. The road was quite repetitive, on some parts of it I watched the scenery, on others - drifted away daydreaming. After a while the highway turned into a two-way slower road, and the scenery also changed a little, leading us through some cozy towns. In one of them we´ve made a stop where Marcel got us wonderful fresh strawberry cakes for lunch. Then we went on and on, until we´ve reached the border of Denmark! We´ve made some fast pictures of the border signs (other bikers were already lining up, wanting to do the same), and ventured on further into the nordic country. There was something unique about it, and it was so lovely. Many trees grew along the road, with branches so curly, or twisted almost to the ground by wind, it looked like they stepped out from a fairytale. It didn´t take long anymore for us to reach our stay of the night - a lovely little fishing camping. Even though that´s very fitting, we´re not here to fish this time! We´ve checked in our cozy studio, freshened up a bit and went out to a town nearby - Ribe, the oldest town in Denmark! We felt it as soon as we entered it, walking through stone streets surrounded by very old, typical houses in all kinds of colours. The town isn´t big and we walked all around quite fast! Discovering churches and other buildings with impressive towers all together in one spot, cozy little streets, a main shopping street where all the tourists were gathered, gardens with bridges over shallow waters. We enjoyed ice-cream, and take-out pizzas for dinner. Lastly we took a look at an old-vehicle gathering, and then walked along a channel, which led us to a something that used to be a fort, and now had a statue in one of it´s corners. We walked all around the place, and finally headed back to our camping. Denmark seems to be so beautiful already, we cannot wait to see what more it has to offer!
