Jubileum tour dag 1: Leeuwarden - Cabo San Lucas

Planes, train and automobiles!

We woke up at 07:00 for the last preparings before the big journey, until Marcel's parents came to pick us up. Around 09:00 we left home and headed to Amsterdam. We arrived perfectly in time - our fellow bikers were slowly gathering at check-in point. After hugs and kisses we separated with Marcel's parents and not long afterwards we climbed into this huge plane of Royal Dutch Airlines.

Soon, at 14:35 began our so far longest flight, but the plane was nicely equipped so it wouldn't feel so long - on small screens with remote control in front of each of us, we could play games, listen to music watch movies and much more to keep us entertained. the cabin crew also didn't let us get hungry - we received two warm meals and snacks in between. Finally, stiff from sitting and shivering with excitement, we arrived at Mexico City airport at 19:30 local time - that makes 01:30 Dutch time. Our journey didn't stop here - we got our visas and went through customs again to fly on to San Jose Cabo. A monorail train took us to our gate where after a short break we got on a plane at 21:50 local time, 03:50 Dutch time, and took off again, admiring the night view of Mexico city from above. That didn't take too long, though - leaning against the plane window I fell deep into sleep until the end of our destination. I was woken up by Marcel, who stayed awake most of the time, right before landing. We arrived at San Jose Cabo at 07:10 Dutch time, 23:10 local time. We grabbed our luggage and went outside....no time to admire palm trees and cactuses all around, because a little bus was already waiting for us. With country music ringing in the background, we drove to our final destination - Marriott hotel. We reached it at 00:30 local time, 08:30 Dutch time. After some instructions we received our room keys, took a quick shower and crashed into bed. That was at 09:15 Dutch time, making us "awake" for over 26 hours!..
