Jubileum tour dag 11: El Centro - Kingman

1 april 2017 - Kingman, Arizona, Verenigde Staten

We woke up early with our alarm, prepared and had a continental breakfast with our friends. Soon we were on the move again. We started on a highway, relaxed because of the smoothness of the road - can't compare that with Mexico, where we had to be very careful with all the holes! We stopped at a Sahara-looking place with a lot of sand dunes, where offroad bikers and quad drivers were having fun. We didn't have less fun that they did, fooling around and rolling in the sand! We continued our ride - the road was long and the landscape picturesque as ever, so I wasn't bored in the back of the motorcycle with my camera. After a long while of riding and a few stops along the way, the Route 66 riders were reunited with their road again, and I drove on it for the very first time. Then we reached Oatman - a very western and Route 66 kind of town with donkeys walking around! We were exploring the town, petting the donkeys and buying a few fun souvenir-shirts. After Oatman followed the Oatman pass - a road very, VERY full of really sharp curves, leading up and down the mountains. We rode on the Route 66 until we reached Kingman. There we filled our bikes with fuel, got rooms in a motel and went for dinner in a Route 66 diner. Tomorrow we're heading for Las Vegas!
